RULES SECTION
Rules for the Dr. F.W. Hebblethwaite & Jimmy Green Wand Competitions
Both competitions have a maximum of eight
entrants.
The Hebblethwaite Trophy has a max. performing time of ten minutes, and
the Jimmy Green Wand twelve minutes.
These times will be adhered to.
The Hebblethwaite Trophy is close up magic with no theme.
Two tables are used, one at each end of the room with the room divided
into two parts.
Each magician will perform twice. (Once at each end)
Lots will be drawn to decide the order.
The Jimmy Green Wand is usually themed.
We draw lots for the order at the meeting before.
One table is used, and each performer only does the act once.
A mixture of magical and non - magical judges will be used.
Entrants will be marked one for the best and eight for the weakest
performers. They will be totaled and the lowest score will have won.
We announce only the winner & 2nd place. The scores are not
revealed.
Rules for the Will Fleet Cup Stage Competition
The
competition has a maximum of eight
entrants.
There is a max. performing time of fifteen minutes.
This time must be adhered to.
The Will Fleet Cup is awarded for a stage performance.
A neutral venue is used and the general public are invited to the competition.
Each magician will perform only once. Lots will be drawn to decide the order.
A mixture of magical and non - magical judges will be used.
Entrants will be marked one for the best and eight for the weakest performers. They will be totaled and the lowest score will have won.
We announce only the winner & 2nd place. The scores are not revealed.
Competition Penalty Points System
If a competitor strays 'just' over the time constraints (less than 30 seconds) there will be no penalty.
If a performer strays between 30 seconds and 1 minute over the allotted time, a 2 point penalty will be applied to their final score.
If a performer strays more than 1 minute over the allotted time, a 4 point penalty will be applied to the final score.
Northern Magic Circle Easter Parade
The winners of the Hebblethwaite Trophy & the Will Fleet Trophy competitions will be encouraged to enter the NMC Easter Parade competitions as representatives of Middlesbrough Circle.
